　輪島に新しくカトリック輪島教会が出来上がりました。宿泊設備もあります。A new Catholic church, Wajima Catholic Church, has been completed in Wajima. It also has lodging facilities.

― カリタス食堂 1月14日　Caritas Kitchen January 14
2026年になって初めての食堂。寒い中、大勢来られました。子どもたちは寒くても外で遊んでいました。お母さんたちは久しぶりに、屋内でゆっくりおしゃべりを楽しんでいました。幼稚園でのお友だちを連れてきて、楽しくてしょうがないといった様子の子どもたち！The first Caritas Kitchen of the year 2026. Many people came despite the cold. The children were playing outside even in the cold. Mothers enjoyed relaxed conversation in the room. Some children brought friends from kindergarten and seemed absolutely thrilled! 

― 奇跡の一本松の木片で作られたバイオリン　 A Violin Made from the Pieces of the Miracle Pine Tree
2011年3月の震災、津波の被害があった岩手県陸前高田市の奇跡の一本松の木片でいくつかのバイオリン、ヴィオラが作られました。全国でその楽器を使ってのコンサートを通して、被災地復興の旗印となるようにとの願いが込められています。
南相馬で度々、演奏されている武内良太朗さんが原町の市民情報交流センターでのTsunami Violinコンサートで演奏されました。コンサート前にカリタス南相馬で練習。伴奏はカリタス南相馬所長の根本摩利さん。Several violins and violas were crafted from the pieces of wood taken from the Miracle Pine Tree in Rikuzentakata City, Iwate Prefecture, which survived the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami. The hope is that concerts using these instruments nationwide will become a symbol of restoration for the disaster-affected areas.　
Ryotaro Takeuchi, who frequently performs in Minamisoma, played at the Tsunami Violin Concert held at the Haramachi Citizen Information Exchange Center. He practiced at Caritas Minamisoma before the concert. The accompanist was Mari Nemoto, Director of Caritas Minamisoma.

― ウクライナの子どもたちとの交流　Exchange with Ukrainian Children
小高の双葉屋旅館の小林友子さんのおかげで東京聖心の初等科、中等科の生徒たちとウクライナの三つの学校と繋がっています。ズームでの交流も会を重ねるごとに温かい心のふれあいが育っています。寒い冬に向けて手袋をクリスマスに送り、とても喜んでいただきました。ドローンでの爆撃を受けながら、先生たちはこの子どもたちに今の年齢の時にしか味わえない楽しさを、、、と素晴らしい努力をされています。Thanks to Ms. Tomoko Kobayashi of Futabaya Ryokan in Odaka, children from Tokyo Sacred Heart Elementary and Junior High School are connected with three schools in Ukraine. With each Zoom meeting, warm heartfelt connections are growing. Gloves were sent for Christmas ahead of the cold winter, bringing great joy. Despite drone attacks, the teachers are making tremendous efforts to give these children joys that can only be experienced at their age.

― カリタス憩いカフェ　Caritas Ikoi (relaxing) Cafe
毎月一回、近隣の高齢の方々の集まりをカリタス南相馬でしています。1月の集まりはお茶の先生によるお抹茶のお点前。先生は春らしいお召し物で、水仙の模様の帯。静かな、ゆったりとした贅沢な時間を過ごさせていただきました。Once a month, Caritas Minamisoma hosts a gathering for local seniors. January's gathering featured a matcha tea ceremony performed by a tea master. The master wore spring-like Kimono with an obi sash patterned with narcissus flowers. We were treated to a quiet, leisurely, and luxurious time.
