―原町カトリック教会も待降節を迎え、クリスマスの準備ができました。4本のローソク、今年は電池で灯せるものになりました。Haramachi Catholic Church is now ready for Christmas. 4 candles, this year battery-operated, are ready to be lit.
―子育て応援 Child-raising support
沢山の方から送っていただいた支援物資を袋につめてクリスマスのプレゼントができました。50家族くらいの方々にお分けできました。「主食は何とか賄えるけれど、子どものお菓子までは手がまわらなくて・・・」という声もあり、お母さんと一緒に来られた子どもの喜ぶ顔を見て、ほっこりした気持ちになりました。
We were able to pack up the relief supplies sent by many people and
send them as Christmas presents to about 50 families. Some of the families
said, "We can manage to provide the staple foods, but we can't afford
sweets for the children..." It was heartwarming to see the joyful faces of
the children who came with their mothers.

小高にあるコヤギファームは震災の後、お米作りを辞めて、ぶどう園をはじめられました。援助マリア修道会の一人のシスターがお手伝いに行くようになり、カリタス南相馬とのつながりができました。喜んでくださり、お礼にと手作りのリースを届けにきてくださいました。
Koyagi Farm in Odaka quit rice farming after the earthquake and started
a vineyard. One of the sisters from the Sisters of Mary Auxiliatrice began to help them, and a connection with
Caritas Minamisoma was established. The farm was grateful for the support and
came to give us a handmade Advent wreath as a thank you.

コヤギファームのお手伝いをはじめた援助マリアのシスターは小高にオープンした「おれたちの伝承館」のお手伝いもはじめました。毎週月曜日の午後は「仮、仮館長」として留守番件案内役を勤めています。
The Sister of Mary Auxiliatrice, who began helping at Koyagi Farm, has also begun helping at "Our Traditions Museum," which was opened in Odaka. Every Monday afternoon, she serves as "temporary curator" and guides visitors to the museum.

We have opened "Our Traditions Museum, which delivers the true
voices of the people" in Odaka, Minamisoma City, Fukushima Prefecture, a

―出前講座 パステルアート Pastel Art
南相馬で市民に出前講座の呼びかけがあり、音楽のバンドはあちこちに呼ばれていましたが、今回、聖霊会のシスター村上のパステルアートにお声がかかり、近くの小学校の6年生のために出かけて行かれました。
The music band had been invited here and there, but this time, Sister
Murakami of the Holy Spirit Sisters was asked to give a class on pastel art for
the sixth graders of a nearby elementary school.

今月の活動はクリスマスの飾り。小林聖心の卒業生のグループから送っていただいた見本とフェルトの材料一式で楽しく作り上げました。
小林聖心のこのグループからは手芸の材料、食品その他、いろいろ送っていただき感謝しています。
This month's activity was making Christmas decorations. We enjoyed
making them with samples and felt materials sent to us by a group of Obayashi
Sacred Heart alumnae.
We are grateful to this group of Obayashi Sacred Heart alumnae for
sending us materials for crafts, food, and many other things.

毎週火曜日に小高の交流センターで英会話のクラスがある時、カリタス南相馬での朝食後、小高の援助マリアのシスターたちの車に載せていただくことが度々あります。援助マリア修道院の聖堂で祈らせていただいています。
月に一度はこの聖堂でのミサにもあずかります。
Every Tuesday, when I have an English conversation class at the
Community Center in Odaka, after breakfast at Caritas Minamisoma, I am often
given a ride by the Sisters of Mary Auxiliatrice who live in Odaka. I often
pray in the chapel. Once a month, we have Mass at this chapel.
―小高イルミネーション Illumination in Odaka
毎年、11月の半ば頃から1月まで小高の町のイルミネーションが見事で楽しみにしています。今年は愛徳カルメル会のシスターがお二人、カリタス南相馬に来られたので、幸田司教さまの車で一緒に見に行きました。援助マリアのシスターたちも合流して、楽しく見て回りました。
Every year, from around the middle of November to January, I look
forward to seeing the splendid illumination of the town of Odaka. This year,
two sisters of the Carmelites of Charity came to Caritas Minamisoma. Bishop Koda kindly took us to see the
illumination. The Sisters of Mary Auxiliatrice also joined us and we enjoyed
looking around.
